Being the ICT coordinator in a primary school can be a real daunting job with so much to plan, organise and so much to go wrong. Since I have taken on the role I have been lucky enough to be closely supported by the Primary ICT Support team.
Not only have they provided excellent technical support, helping and teaching me at the same time. They have also helped us develop an excellent school website for parents, friends and staff of St Luke’s.
I can’t imagine how difficult my job would be without the Primary ICT Support team working with myself, the Headteacher and other members of staff in school.
Primary ICT Support have been working with us for nearly a year. Working with James is like having another member of staff. He began by installing a completely new ICT suite working over his weekend to have it ready for us as soon as possible. He was as frustrated as us with the old equipment. He is always quick to sort out problems. New or repaired equipment often arrives the same day as we mention needing it. He even manages to translate our jumbled requests and is understanding about our lack of ICT knowledge!
Michael has just completed an amazing website for us, giving us advice and support and then taking a mass of e-mail attachments and forming them into a professional looking site within only a few days. We were were working to a tight deadline but this did not phase Michael, even when we kept hassling him for adjustments and additions of complex powerpoints right up to the day we needed it to be live.
Until we contacted Primary ICT support last year, we had no website and no idea where to start. A colleague at another school recommended them and it snowballed from there. As soon as we contacted James, Michael came in to school to discuss our needs. He was responsive to our ideas and made changes as soon as we requested. The expert advice we have received and personalised service, have given our school the professional public image we wanted…and I’m sure this is just the beginning!
